TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The Natural Stone is a high quality coating that meets all the technical, physical and constructive requirements necessary to make a good work. It has a longer life and lower maintenance costs compared with other materials, such as stoneware or artificial stone. The Natural Stone resistance can be potentiated with good treatment and appropriate maintenance.
The granites are composed almost entirely magmatic rocks the silica base (quartz) and silicates (feldspar) have compact granular structure.

The marbles are metamorphic rocks almost made entirely of calcium carbonate, double carbonate of calcium and magnesium and also through various components of the original rocks.

Exception to this rule are the travertines that are in fact limestone rocks chemical sedimentation formed by carbon dioxide mix with calcium carbonate saturated solution. For the purposes of their use, it has been also called marbles.
The best way to distinguish a marble from a granite is the simple visual examination of the rocks surface characteristics.
The marbles generally have a more homogeneous coloring with many shafts and do not have black granulation (in the form of dots) present in almost 100% of granites.
The physicochemical characteristics of marble and granite, we can say that the marbles have hardness 3-5 in Friedrich Moas range while the granites have hardness 6 to 7 on the same scale.
The marble and granite react differently to various chemicals and household cleaners.
These materials are composed of quartz, you can visit the websites of manufacturers, just access to partners and check all the characteristics of the material.
The materials vary in their composition and structure, for each type of application there are some restrictions. The table below presents for each type of ornamental rocks its possible applications:

Can always occur variations in color, tone, granularity and default as it is a natural product. Photos and samples are only a help to choose which you want stone.
The samples you see on the computer, have been scanned and saved as images. The colors shown may vary between different computer systems.
Natural stone only part in cases of severe abuse, with a hammer or impact tool. A chip can be filled with a mixture of granite powder and epoxy glue. If braek and its stone element, do not throw away the piece, you can use it to correct the element, but must have the notion that the glue will always be visible making the most fragile element.
With regular use is difficult to crack a natural stone, it is easier to open cracks during transport and during installation.
Yes, granite have natural pores and microcracks forming part of its structure. Some types of stone has more of these characteristics than others and the pores can be minimized by applying a sealer on its surface.
The visibility of splices depends on the granularity, color and pattern. A small grain, uniform will be as clear as a grain of greater variety. A dark color will be less apparent than a light color. A dramatic pattern with color bands show more splices than a uniform pattern. Most customers have found that the natural beauty of granite outweighs concern about the splices.
  • High impact blows.
  • Unsuitable cleaning products (detergents acids).
  • Food products (wine, vinegar, lemon juice, oil, etc).
  • The physical wear due to friction and use (traffic of people, use of abrasive sponges).
  • Atmospheric agents (sun, rain, etc).

The hot of the pots or hot liquids will not affect granite under normal circumstances.

INFORMATION SERVICE AND CLEANING GRANITE AND MARBLES

For cleaning using just water, but when cleaning or disinfecting or should apply only neutral detergents at a pH between 7 and 10. Do not apply aggressive detergents, bleaches, ammonia, anti-lime, and others. Do not use metal utensils in cleaning to prevent risks in unwanted places. In the case of stains occur, you must clean them with soapy water and if they continue to consult specialized people.
One of the precautions to take to keep well kept is pass water repellent annually on its surface. This ensures that the granite maintains its impermeability and does not absorb liquids that are spilled on it. Do not use harsh chemicals, detergents with acid (like vinegar) to clean the worktop, as they can leave stains and scratches.
Foods like soft drinks, vinegar and lemon juice should be kept away from your worktop, or if they fall, should be removed quickly to prevent them leave marks. Anything that is poured over the worktop must be cleaned as soon as possible, thus ensures that will be free from stains.
Another tip is that you should never use the granite countertops as a cutting board because make risks and will ruin their knives.
1. Use soft by broom (daily).
2. Never pour water directly on the ground or the detergent.
3. Using Ph neutral detergent diluted with water (as specified by the manufacturer).
4.Torcer wet cloth so that it stands only damp and pass on the surface then dry it with a soft, clean cloth.

In the case of stains caused by absorption of any product in stone, you should never try to remove it without knowing, always consult a specialist before any procedures because some components cause stains.
It should protect the feet of chairs vessels with felts or materials which avoid causing scratches or stains (e.g., rust vessels feet). In areas where there is probability of contact with liquid, coffee, soda, oil, food or any other elements that may cause stains, it is advisable to apply guards against stains.
The durability of the brightness or the natural characteristics of the stone depends on the above mentioned chemical, physical stress due to friction and use. To minimize wear due to abrasion promoted by the traffic carried on the pavement, it is recommended to use mats in entries to remove solid particles (sand grains) stuck to shoes.
Do not let straw-of-steel scraps, iron or other agents in contact with marble or granite, as soon they rust staining the surface.
Avoid placing products, hot pots or cold containers directly on marble or granite, despite their resistance to high and low temperatures. Always use bases.
Products with acids, grease, paints, coloring, perfumes, soaps, glass, cigarette etc., can stain the marble and granite in contact with it. There are special techniques to try to remove them. Do not use "home" products. We recommend looking for specialized companies to guide "how to proceed".
The marble and granite should not be in contact with wood of any kind, it can form brown color stains. During the work phase protect the surface of the abrasive wear and risk by metals, sand, glass and other hard materials.

INFORMATION ON SETTLEMENT OR FIXING

1. Remember to always clean the areas where marble and granite will be applied to see if there is wood dust debris, iron, smoke etc.

2. Agents present in the floor or base of the walls can be absorbed by stones, appearing in its external face (polished).
1. Waterproof support (floor, damp walls, etc.)

2. In wet environments (kitchens, bathrooms, service areas etc.), especially when light material, using white mixed grout with Sika Top, for example.

3.Using whenever possible tile adhesive.
